Bharata Mata College Library began functioning in July 1965. The name “Bharata Mata" was quite unusual in those days when institutions were named after Saints. This was due to Mar Joseph Parecattil’s (Then Arch Bishop, Ernakulam Angamaly Arch Diocese) passion for Indianisation. The college library is located in a central position of the campus. The library is automated with the software KOHA for the overall management of library operations. Books are classified according to the Dewey Decimal Classification Scheme 22nd edition. We provide open access facility in the library keeping in mind the right information for the right user at the right time. The library’s assets are mainly for the students, faculties and the staffs. The total area of library is 6250 sq.ft. It is divided into six sections, main hall, research room, reference hall, digital library, stack area and general stacks 2. The total seating capacity of the library is 110 members. Reader’s entry and exit is recorded through an access control and management system. The collection includes print documents and electronic documents. Print Collection: Books Journals Magazines Students Projects Theses Bound Volumes E-Resources Nlist Delnet J-Gate World Library
